Sixteen-year-old Poppy Moore (Emma Roberts) has always got what she wanted and lives a pampered life in her L.A. Poppy has finally ended her so-called friendship with Ruby. Several months later, Poppy and Freddie resume their romantic relationship and she invites her new friends to Malibu, they start to enjoy a well-deserved vacation. Gerry arrives at Abbey Mount, he praises Poppy for her newfound maturity on life. At the Honor Court, it is soon discovered that Harriet was responsible for framing Poppy, she is soon expelled from Abbey Mount and she gets humiliated by her former classmates. Poppy looks at a photo of her mother many years ago, but she is still distraught over losing her real friends, this causes Freddie to realize Poppy is innocent and he comforts her. Another incident occurs, when Poppy is accused of setting a fire in the kitchen, even though she has put out the fire, Poppy's friends set out to prove her innocence and they learn that the e-mails they got was actually Harriet's doing. With no one to turn to, Poppy tries to find solace in Ruby, but she learns that her so-called friend sleeping with her boyfriend, Roddy. Harriet, however, is not fond of Poppy and she soon turns the tables on her by turning her friends and love interest against her. Poppy's stay at Abbey Mount proves to be a wake up call for her, she befriends Kate, Drippy, Josie, and Kiki, she also develops an interest in lacrosse, and she falls in love with Freddie Kingsley, the son of the headmaster. While Poppy has everything she has ever wanted, her father is at his wits end and her latest stunt results in her being put into Abbey Mount, a prestigious boarding school in England that is run by headmistress, Mrs. Poppy Moore is a spoiled rich heiress and she is enjoying her life in Malibu, she lives with her widowed father Gerry and her sister Molly. But in using Freddie and seeing an old photograph hanging on the school wall, Poppy may come to some realizations about both her life and friends at Abbey Mount as well as those same aspects previously in Malibu. Poppy, in turn, decides to use Freddie in achieving her goal. Kingsley's teenage son, who Harriet fancies as her boyfriend, seems to be falling for Poppy. Harriet would like to see Poppy gone as well, especially as Freddie Kingsley, Mrs. Through her stay at Abbey Mount, Poppy continually butts heads with the school's snobbish head girl, Harriet, who rules her entourage and the school's younger students with an iron fist. Kingsley, can see in Poppy the same thing that Kate does. This task is easier said than done as the school's principal, Mrs. Kate and the gang counsel Poppy in that if she really wants to get out of Abbey Mount, the only way is to do something or a series of somethings to get expelled. Kate can see that underneath Poppy's privileged exterior is a scared girl who just wants to get along in life. Despite Poppy's initial antagonism toward her, she is befriended by Kate, who has been assigned her big sister in showing her the ropes around Abbey Mount, and the rest of the girls in their shared sleeping quarters. It is an immediate fish out of water situation for Poppy, whose main goal is to get out of Abbey Mount and back to Malibu. Although he has threatened to do so several times, Gerry, based on Poppy's latest actions, finally decides to send Poppy to boarding school, most specifically to Abbey Mount in England. ![]() Ever since her mother died five years earlier in a car accident, sixteen year old Poppy has been acting out, causing her father grief most specifically in any of his attempts for meaningful relationships with other women. The Moores - widowed father Gerry and his two teenage daughters Poppy and Molly - are a wealthy Malibu based family who have all the luxuries and modern conveniences of life.
